Natural and Easy Solutions for Seasonal Changes

Natural and Easy Solutions for Seasonal Changes

Welcome Spring!  This is my favorite season of the year. There is just something about a fresh start, and watching renewed life as the trees and flowers start to bud. But this seasonal change is not all positive. Some people struggle with seasonal changes throughout their lives, while others, like me, develop the need for support later in life. Either way, we’ve got you covered. Here are 5 things you can do to support your body this spring!

1.       Keep your windows closed.

I know, that’s not much fun, right? You’ve waited all winter with your windows and doors closed, and now that the sunshine and warmth is arriving, I am telling you to keep them closed longer. But, if you want to keep that pesky pollen away, you will want to keep the windows closed.

2.       Don’t line dry your clothes.

Again, who doesn’t love the feel and smell of clothes that have dried on the line? Unfortunately, pollen attaches to those clothes hanging on the line, and you will bring it into your home.

3. Take a hot shower.

I like to drop a couple drops of Eucalyptus essential oil on the floor in the shower, too. It’s so soothing!

4.       Take a good probiotic.

I have learned so much over the last couple of years about how gut health impacts our overall wellness. So, this is something we do daily. I take one from Young Living and my 6 yo absolutely loves their prebiotic/probiotic for children. This study explains the relationship between gut health and allergies.

5.       Essential oils.

Our favorites are Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint. We typically diffuse 2-3 drops of each in the diffuser each morning, and it is in the air as we get ready for our day. I also like to keep a couple of roller mixtures around, so we can apply this seasonal blend topically, as well. When you make a roller, you want to add 10 drops total essential oil to a 10mL roller bottle, and then fill with a carrier oil. I really like to use this sweet almond oil.

Not an essential oil user yet? What are you waiting for? You can get started with Young Living and have your hands on these oils within days! If you are intrigued, but want a little more information, then here is a simple class you can follow.

Now, it’s time to make all of those fun Spring-time plans for your family, and get outside!

 Happy Breathing!
